Keep The Lifeline and help families feed their children well!
We’re supporting our friends at Save the Children in the campaign to stop the £20 cut to Universal Credit - and you can help too.
In seven weeks’ time the Government plans to cut Universal Credit, removing the £20 lifeline put in place to support vulnerable families through the Covid crisis. This cut will remove over £1,000 per year from the household budgets of some of the poorest families, making it harder for them to access nutritious food. It will have a significant impact on children, with 230,000 additional households with children having registered for Universal Credit since March 2020 when the pandemic began.
And it’s not just charities that are identifying the need. A report by the Fabian Society reveals that there is a clear majority of public support for the £20 to be maintained. If you’re one of those people, you can help. Write to your MP and ask them to oppose the cut, using this form prepared by Save the Children.
