School Food Matters was founded in 2007 by parent Stephanie Wood, inspired by environmentalist Zac Goldsmith, then the parliamentary candidate for Richmond Park.
Our mission is to ensure that every child enjoys fresh sustainable food at school and understands where their food comes from.
To achieve this we listen to and involve parents, children and schools. We work together to improve school meals and support food education through cooking, growing and visits to farms.
School Food Matters is a registered charity number 1134094.
In 2010 we made a commitment to move the charity from 100% grant dependency. Our two areas of work remain campaigning and food education but we have now moved to a more financially robust model with income coming from four sources.
This is where you'll find opportunities to work with us and we're always delighted to hear from enthusiastic volunteers!
