What is the Garden Gurus programme?
Many teachers tell us they want to bring gardening into school life but lack the skills and confidence to get started. Garden Gurus is here to help change that.
Our expert school gardeners work hands-on with children and staff to build vibrant fruit and vegetable gardens - guiding them through every step, from sowing seeds and caring for plants to harvesting delicious crops.
Each participating school receives year-round support, including bespoke training for two members of staff. By the end of the programme, they’ll be ready to lead a school gardening project with confidence.
To wrap up the year, children learn to cook delicious dishes with the vegetables that they have grown.
Garden Gurus gives more children the chance to grow food, learn where it comes from and enjoy the wellbeing benefits of spending time in nature.
