Fresh Enterprise
What is the Fresh Enterprise programme?
Fresh Enterprise is a food education programme, run in partnership with Belazu Ingredient Company, designed to teach young people about opportunities in the food industry and inspire a love of creative food production and marketing.
Every year, students, across eight secondary schools in Ealing, go on a journey to create their very own pastes by experimenting with a wide range of flavours and textures. The schools then present their perfected products to an expert tasting panel at Belazu HQ. The ultimate prize? The winning team’s paste goes into production and is sold to the public on the Belazu website. All proceeds go to the Belazu Foundation to support the following year’s Fresh Enterprise programme.
The sessions focus on:
- Showing students how a food company operates with a tour of Belazu’s facilities
- Inspiring creativity in the kitchen and demonstrating practical cooking skills
- Teaching students how to market their products, including labelling and pitching

Where does SFM deliver the Fresh Enterprise programme?
The Fresh Enterprise programme is delivered to secondary and SEN schools located near Belazu headquarters in Ealing.
How is the Fresh Enterprise programme funded?
This work is generously funded by the Belazu Foundation. Belazu is on a mission to educate students on the many diverse and exciting pathways and career opportunities there are in the food industry. Belazu’s own story began when two boys met on their first day of secondary school and went on to build their careers in the food industry. Now, they are dedicated to inspiring and guiding the next generation of food professionals.
