The Holiday Food and Fun programme provides fun activities and hot, healthy meals to children during school holidays.
Since the programme started in 2018, we have run Holiday Food and Fun clubs over the Easter and summer holidays. The programme has been developed and delivered in partnership with The Belazu Foundation, which provided funding and a team of enthusiastic volunteers.
Fun activities include arts, crafts, sports and games. The children also receive a visit from our gardener who teaches them how to grow veg from seed and to think about where food comes from. We also offer cooking sessions run by our food teachers who introduce the children to lots of new foods and culinary skills.

Parents have been very positive about the programme, which provides their children with the opportunity to run around and socialise as well as access to healthy food:
“The children stay healthy and active, and it gets them off their phones.”
“They can socialise and have a relaxing atmosphere in school.”
“It gives them something to do during the summer and the chance to make new friends.”
“I cannot put into words how grateful we are to have had the opportunity to be invited for a week of endless fun and positivity! The children have had a fab time and been spoilt rotten with second helpings at lunchtimes!”
This is part of our Food provision work.
We want every child to have access to nutritious food so that they are well-nourished and ready to learn. That’s why we work with school caterers, headteachers and families to get the best possible food service across the whole school day.
