#WriteNow to your MP to #EndChildFoodPoverty

6 September 2021

Marcus Rashford is asking you to write to your MP to urge them to endorse the recommendations of the National Food Strategy (NFS).

The footballer is calling on MPs to support recommendations from the NFS. He focusses on the recommendations to extend the Holiday Activities and Food Programme and to expand the eligibility criteria for the Healthy Start Scheme and free school meals (FSM) to include children with an annual income of less than £20,000 before benefits. The recommendations also ask Government to extend the Healthy Start Scheme to children up to age five and FSM to those with no recourse to public funds.

Rashford also states his opposition to the Government’s planned cut to Universal Credit which comes at a time when families are already struggling to feed their children well.

Read the press release here and find out how to write to your MP here.
