WINTER SALE RAISES £200
Our Young Marketeers have been at it again!
Students from four secondary schools became market traders during our Winter Sale at Borough Market.
Our enterprising young people sold freshly baked bread and a range of homemade soups, including Spicy Roasted Vegetable, Pea & Mint, and two variations on Minestrone!
The students were able to raise over £200 for FareShare, the charity providing meals for vulnerable families by redistributing surplus food to charities and community groups. With every £1 raised FareShare can provide four meals, so the sales from our Young Marketeers will mean an extra 800 meals! A massive congratulations to all of the students who have taken part in the programme.
Thank you to our funders, NatWest, and to our project partners - especially BreadAhead - who all help make this programme possible. Also thanks to the Former Mayor of Southwark, Cllr Charlie Smith who visited the students and sampled all of the soups!
