Rose Vouchers for Fruit & Veg launch in Southwark
We're proud to be working alongside our friends at Alexandra Rose Charity to tackle the issue of childhood obesity in the Faraday ward of Southwark.
In July, they joined our three Healthy Zones schools at East Street Market to launch their Rose Vouchers scheme which aims to support families with young children on a low income to buy fruit and veg in local markets.
The Faraday Neighbourhood Scheme, in partnership with Guy’s & St Thomas’ Charity, is testing a whole-systems approach to tackling child obesity within the boundaries of one ward. We are exploring how a combination of activities that address the problem from different angles may help us lose the ‘obesity deprivation gap’ - the difference between the high rates of child obesity in the most deprived areas and lowest rates in wealthier areas.
