The annual Oxford Farming Conference (OFC) and Oxford Real Farming Conference (ORFC) took place last week.

Both conferences focused on the issues of sustainability, the climate crisis, and maintaining high farming and food standards.

Speakers at the OFC included Secretary of State for DEFRA, The Rt. Hon Theresa Villiers MP, who committed to the conference that Brexit would not result in any dilution of the current high standards in environmental protection, food safety, and animal welfare; as well as Henry Dimbleby, who spoke on the challenges facing the UK's food systems, and outlined the next steps of the new National Food Strategy.

Speakers at ORFC included representatives from Sustain, The Soil Association, Food Foundation, the Green Party, Extinction Rebellion, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), and many others.
