We have been shortlisted to win a 2019 Charity Times Award for Corporate Community Local Involvement!

We entered our Fresh Enterprise programme, which we run in partnership with Belazu Ingredient Company. The award recognises active involvement of a commercial company directly with a local UK-registered charity that has had a quantifiably positive impact on the local community.

The Fresh Enterprise programme aims to enhance connection and engagement with the local community, whilst increasing student interest in cooking and trying new foods. It introduces students from secondary schools in Ealing to a whole range of careers available in food by looking at the thriving food company, Belazu, right in the heart of their community.

The programme has involved 288 students since it launched in 2017, and two thirds agree or strongly agree that it has built their confidence and interest in cooking, and increased their knowledge of where food comes from.

Fresh Enterprise is a prime example of how a corporation and a charity can collaborate to bring benefit to the local community, by encouraging children to connect with food and fostering a generation of young people who are inspired by the stories behind the products on the supermarket shelf.

The winners will be announced on 2nd October 2019! Fingers crossed and watch this space #CharityTimesAwards.
