Since its inception in 2010, School Food Matters has been an active member of the All Party Parliamentary Group on School Food chaired by Sharon Hodgson MP.
All Party Parliamentary Group on School Food
The group exists to provide a parliamentary forum for the discussion of all matters relating to food education in schools and other settings; to push the issue of food in schools up the political agenda on a cross-party basis; and to provide a forum through which external organisations concerned in matters related to school food, child hunger and food education can share best practice and establish shared positions and priorities.
School Food Matters has contributed to numerous papers published by the group, most recently a paper on the need for government guidance on packed lunches to support schools that wish to work with parents to keep junk food out of lunchboxes.
